Notifications

An inbox for payments, identity and security

Notices about your payments, your identity check and your account arrive in one inbox in the app. You decide which of them also reach you by push or by email.

  • Filters and an unread count.
  • Mark everything as read in one go.
  • Push, email, and which types of notice reach you.
  • Security notices cannot be switched off.
The Notifications inbox: filters for all, unread and payments, the unread count, Mark all as read, and notices about money in, a card purchase and a new sign-in
The notification preferences: push and email switches, then a switch for each type of notice, with security locked on

How the inbox keeps you informed

Nothing about your money or your account is announced only once and then lost. It stays in the inbox, marked unread until you open it.

  • Filters and an unread count

Show payments, identity, security or service notices, or only what is unread. The unread count is read separately from the list, so the badge stays right however far you scroll.

  • Mark all as read, within the filter

Mark all as read applies to the notices you are looking at. With a filter on, notices it hides stay unread, because you have not seen them yet.

  • Push, email, and which notices

Switch push notifications and email on or off, then choose which types of notice leave the app that way. Everything still lands in the inbox, whatever you choose.

  • Security notices cannot be switched off

Their switch is shown on and locked, with the reason beside it, instead of letting you flip it and then failing. Push and email stay yours to switch on or off, and every security notice still arrives in the inbox.

Money that waits on you says why

When a deposit is held, the reason is shown where the money waits, together with what you can do about it, such as telling the app whose wallet it came from. The inbox is where notices about it arrive, so you know to go and look.

The Money waiting on you screen: a deposit on hold that asks whose wallet it came from, one sent back and one that did not arrive, each explained in a note

Questions about notifications

Can I turn notices off?

You can switch push and email on or off, and choose which types of notice go out that way. Security notices are the one type you cannot switch off, and everything still arrives in the inbox, so nothing is lost: the preferences only decide what leaves the app.

Why can’t I turn off security notices?

Because the service does not let them be switched off. Rather than show a switch that would fail when you touch it, the app shows it on and locked, and says why.

Email or push?

Either, both or neither. In the notification preferences, “How you are told” switches push and email on or off, and “Which notices” picks the types that go out that way. You can change both whenever you like, and everything still arrives in the inbox.

Where do held deposits show up?

On the Money waiting on you screen, marked “On hold”, with the reason and what you can do next. A notice about the deposit arrives in the inbox as well.
